Juliette Binoche is a French actress who gained prominence with her leading role in the 1985 film Rendez-vous. She has appeared in over 40 feature films and has received numerous international awards throughout her career. Binoche's English-language debut came with The Unbearable Lightness of Being (1988), which marked the beginning of her international acclaim. She won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in The English Patient (1996) and received a nomination for Best Actress for Chocolat (2000). In addition to her film work, Binoche has performed on stage, including a Tony Award-nominated role in Betrayal on Broadway. She won the Best Actress Award at the Cannes Film Festival in 2010 for Certified Copy.
