Julie Bovasso was an American actress who played Florence Manero in Saturday Night Fever (1977). She had a diverse career across stage, screen, and television, with notable appearances in films such as Staying Alive (1983), The Verdict (1982), and Moonstruck (1987). Bovasso was also a playwright and director, having established the Tempo Playhouse in the 1950s, where she introduced works of the Theater of the Absurd to American audiences. She won the first Best Actress Obie Award in 1956 for her performance in Jean Genet's The Maids. Bovasso helped Cher and Olympia Dukakis with their accents in Moonstruck.
