Joonas Suotamo is a Finnish actor who portrayed Chewbacca in the Star Wars saga, taking on the role as a lead in Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017) and Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018). He began his career as a body double for the character in Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015). Suotamo is also a former professional basketball player. He appeared in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019).
