Jon Voight is an American actor who won an Academy Award for his role in Coming Home (1978). He gained fame in the late 1960s with his performance in Midnight Cowboy (1969) and became a Hollywood star during the 1970s with notable roles in Deliverance (1972) and The Champ (1979). Although his output decreased in the 1980s, he received praise for his performance in Runaway Train (1985). In the 1990s, Voight starred in The Rainmaker (1997) and continued to deliver performances in the 2000s, including roles in Ali (2001) and Uprising (2001). He is the father of actress Angelina Jolie.
