John Finch was an English actor who portrayed Macbeth in Roman Polanski's film adaptation of Macbeth (1971). He had a distinguished career that included performances in Alfred Hitchcock's thriller Frenzy (1972) and the Agatha Christie adaptation Death on the Nile (1978). Finch also appeared in Ridley Scott's Kingdom of Heaven (2005) as the Catholic Patriarch of Jerusalem. Earlier in his career, he was cast as Kane in Alien, a role he had to decline due to health issues.
