John McLiam was a Canadian actor. His film career began with a role in Maxwell Anderson's Winterset in 1946, leading to notable appearances in My Fair Lady (1964), In Cold Blood (1967), and The Missouri Breaks (1976). He also portrayed Orval in First Blood (1982) and was part of the original Broadway cast of One More River (1960). McLiam served in the United States Navy during World War II, earning a Bronze Star, and later worked as a journalist. He adopted the stage name McLiam, derived from the Gaelic form of his birth surname Williams. He passed away in 1994 due to melanoma and Parkinson's disease.
