John Malkovich is an American actor who received two Academy Award nominations for Best Supporting Actor for his roles in Places in the Heart (1984) and In the Line of Fire (1993). He began his career in 1976 as a founding member of the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago and made his Broadway debut in 1984 as Biff in Death of a Salesman. Malkovich has appeared in numerous films, including Being John Malkovich (1999), Con Air (1997), and Warm Bodies (2013). He won a Primetime Emmy Award for his performance in Death of a Salesman (1985) and has also worked on productions such as RED (2010) and Bird Box (2018). Malkovich directed the Harold Pinter play The Caretaker (1986).
