John Mahoney was an English-American actor who portrayed Martin Crane in the sitcom Frasier from 1993 to 2004. He began his acting career in Chicago with the Steppenwolf Theatre Company and won a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play for his role in The House of Blue Leaves in 1986. Mahoney gained further recognition through films such as Moonstruck and Suspect, both released in 1987, and appeared in notable titles including In the Line of Fire (1993), Primal Fear (1996), and lent his voice to Antz (1998). He received nominations for two Golden Globe Awards and two Primetime Emmy Awards during his career.
