John Ireland is a Canadian-American actor and film director who was nominated for an Academy Award for his role in All the King's Men (1949), becoming the first actor from Vancouver to achieve this. He had a significant presence in Western films, appearing in My Darling Clementine (1946), Red River (1948), and Gunfight at the O.K. Corral (1957). His filmography also includes notable roles in 55 Days at Peking (1963), The Adventurers (1970), and Farewell, My Lovely (1975). Ireland starred in the television series The Cheaters (1960–1962) and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He appeared in Spartacus (1960).
