John Huston was an American film director and screenwriter who directed The Maltese Falcon (1941). Over his prolific career, he helmed 37 feature films, including The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948), The African Queen (1951), and The Man Who Would Be King (1975). Huston received 15 Oscar nominations throughout his career, winning twice, and directed both his father and daughter to Oscar victories. He also worked on Escape to Victory (1981).
