John Hurt is an English actor who gained prominence for his role as Richard Rich in A Man for All Seasons (1966). His portrayal of astronaut Kane in the science-fiction horror film Alien (1979) is particularly notable for a memorable scene where an alien bursts from his chest, earning him a BAFTA nomination.
