John Hawkes is an American actor who starred in the film Me and You and Everyone We Know (2005), which won the special jury prize at the Sundance Film Festival. He co-founded the Big State Productions Theatre Company and performed in their original play, "In the West," at the Kennedy Center. His filmography includes notable titles such as Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017), Contagion (2011), and American Gangster (2007). Hawkes also had a prominent role in the HBO series Deadwood (2004) as Sol Star. He received a Breakout Performance Award for his work in Buttleman (2003).
