John Filion is a former Toronto city councillor who served Ward 18 Willowdale. He had a significant political career, initially planning to retire in 2018 but choosing to run for re-election due to changes in ward boundaries that he believed would disadvantage community activists. Filion announced his retirement from municipal politics in June 2022 after four decades of service. In addition to his political endeavors, he appeared in the film Trainwreck: Mayor of Mayhem (2025).
