John de Lancie is an American actor who has portrayed the character Q in the Star Trek franchise, appearing in Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and Star Trek: Voyager. He has been active in film and television since 1977, with notable roles including Colonel Frank Simmons in Stargate SG-1 and Donald Margolis in Breaking Bad. De Lancie also voiced Discord in My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and appeared in Reign Over Me (2007).
