John Arcilla is a Filipino actor who portrayed the titular character in Heneral Luna (2015). He was a resident actor with the Tanghalang Pilipino Actor Company from 1991 to 1997, contributing significantly to Philippine theater. Arcilla appeared in The Bourne Legacy (2012) as a head security guard and was featured in Metro Manila (2013), which represented the UK for Best Foreign Language Film at the 86th Academy Awards. His performance in On the Job: The Missing 8 (2021) earned him the Volpi Cup for Best Actor at the Venice International Film Festival, making him the first Filipino and Southeast Asian to achieve this honor. In 2022, he also won the Best Actor award at the Gawad Urian Awards for the same role.
