Joel Basman is a Swiss actor who began his career in 2004 with a role as Zizou in the soap opera Lüthi und Blanc. He gained recognition for his performance as an autistic boy in the 2007 film Jimmie, directed by Tobias Ineichen. Basman received the Shooting Star award for his role in Luftibus (2008) and won the Schweizer Fernsehpreis for film the same year. He also appeared in the TV film Unsere Mütter, unsere Väter (2012) and played Pascal in Ziellos. In 2021, he featured in The Colony. Basman starred as the lead in Wolkenbruch's Wondrous Journey Into the Arms of a Shiksa, which was distributed by Netflix.
