Joe Armstrong is an English actor who gained prominence for portraying Allan A Dale in the BBC series Robin Hood (2006-2009). He has also appeared in notable television series such as Happy Valley (2014), where he played Ashley Cowgill, and The Village (2017) as Bairstow. In addition to his television work, Armstrong starred in the film Darkest Hour (2017). He is the son of actor Alun Armstrong and has a background in acting from the University of Bristol. Armstrong's performances have received critical acclaim, particularly in Happy Valley and The Village. He will appear in the television series The Undeclared War as Daniel Granger.
