Joanna Merlin is an American actress and casting director who starred in the original Broadway production of Fiddler on the Roof in 1964. She made her film debut in The Ten Commandments in 1956 and later appeared in Fame in 1980 as Miss Olivia Berg. Merlin has also worked extensively in casting, including for notable productions such as Company, Follies, and Evita. She had a recurring role as Judge Lena Petrovsky on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit from 2000 to 2011. In addition to her acting career, she has authored two acting guides and is a faculty member at New York University's graduate acting program.
