J.K. Simmons is an American actor who won an Academy Award for his role as music instructor Terence Fletcher in Whiplash (2014). He has appeared in over 200 film and television roles since his debut in 1986. Notable film appearances include J. Jonah Jameson in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy (2002–2007), Mac MacGuff in Juno (2007), and Bill in La La Land (2016). Simmons has also voiced characters such as Mayor Leodore Lionheart in Zootopia (2016) and Cave Johnson in the video game Portal 2 (2011). His television credits include Dr. Emil Skoda on Law & Order and Howard Silk in Counterpart. He has been the voice of the Yellow M&M since 1996.
