J.J. Abrams is an American filmmaker and composer who directed Star Trek (2009). He has produced and written several films, including Armageddon (1998), Cloverfield (2008), and Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015). His directorial work also includes Mission: Impossible III (2006) and Super 8 (2011). Abrams created television series such as Lost (2004–2010) and Alias (2001–2006), earning two Emmy Awards for his work on Lost. His films have grossed over $4 billion worldwide, making him one of the highest-grossing directors in film history. Abrams directed and co-wrote Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019).
