Jim Rash is an American actor, comedian, screenwriter, and filmmaker who played Dean Craig Pelton in the NBC sitcom Community (2009–2015). He co-wrote The Descendants (2011) with Alexander Payne and Nat Faxon, earning an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. Rash has also collaborated with Faxon on the films The Way, Way Back (2013) and Downhill (2020). In addition to his work in film, he has appeared in projects such as Fly Me to the Moon (2024) and Miss You, Love You (2026). Rash received a nomination for the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 2012.
