Jim Beaver is an American actor who portrayed Bobby Singer in Supernatural. He gained recognition for his role as Whitney Ellsworth in the HBO series Deadwood, earning a Screen Actors Guild Awards nomination for Ensemble Acting. Beaver also appeared as Sheriff Shelby Parlow in Justified and as Robert "Dakota Bob" Singer in The Boys on Amazon Prime Video. His film credits include Next (2007). In addition to acting, he is a writer and film historian, with his memoir Life's That Way published in 2009.
