Jiang Wen is a Chinese film actor, screenwriter, and director who starred alongside Gong Li in the film Red Sorghum (1986). He is associated with the 'Sixth Generation' of filmmakers that emerged in the 1990s. His notable acting credits include roles in Jasmine Women (2004), New York, I Love You (2008), The Curse of Turandot (2021), and Gone with the Bullets (2014). Jiang also gained international recognition for his performance as Baze Malbus in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016). He is the older brother of actor Jiang Wu.
