Jerrod Carmichael is an American stand-up comedian, actor, and writer who created and starred in the NBC sitcom The Carmichael Show. He began his career in stand-up comedy at the age of 20, making his debut at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles. Carmichael gained prominence with his role in the 2014 film Neighbors, and has also appeared in Transformers: The Last Knight and Ferdinand, both released in 2017. He has released three HBO stand-up specials, with Rothaniel winning him a Primetime Emmy Award for its candid exploration of his identity. Carmichael's recent work includes a role in the Academy Award-winning film Poor Things, directed by Yorgos Lanthimos.
