Jennifer Saunders is an English comedienne, screenwriter, singer, and actress who gained prominence through her work on the sketch show French & Saunders. She first captured widespread attention in the 1980s as a member of The Comic Strip and is celebrated for her portrayal of Edina Monsoon in the BBC sitcom Absolutely Fabulous. Her career includes appearances in American sitcoms such as Roseanne and Friends, and she won a People's Choice Award for voicing the Fairy Godmother in Shrek 2. Saunders has also worked on Jam & Jerusalem and The Life and Times of Vivienne Vyle. She starred in Death on the Nile (2022) and The Magic Faraway Tree (2026).
