Jeanne Tripplehorn is an American actress who began her film career with the role of a police psychologist in Basic Instinct (1992). She has appeared in notable films such as The Firm (1993), Waterworld (1995), and Sliding Doors (1998). In addition to her film work, Tripplehorn starred as Barbara Henrickson in the HBO series Big Love (2006–11) and portrayed Dr. Alex Blake in the CBS drama Criminal Minds (2012–14). She received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for her role as Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis in the HBO film Grey Gardens (2009).
