Jean Rochefort was a French actor who received an Honorary César in 1999. He began his career in theatre, performing with the Compagnie Grenier Hussenot before transitioning to television and film. Rochefort gained prominence with his role in Hearth Fires (1972), where he portrayed a man returning to his family after a long absence. He starred in the comedy Pardon Mon Affaire (1976), which solidified his popularity, and played notable roles in Le Grand Blond avec une chaussure noire (1972) and its sequel, Le Retour du grand blond (1974). His later work included a role in the mini-series Le Comte de Monte Cristo (1998) and a memorable performance in Mr. Bean's Holiday (2007).
