Jason Segel is an American actor who gained prominence for his role as Marshall Eriksen in the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother from 2005 to 2014. He started his career working with director Judd Apatow on the series Freaks and Geeks (1999–2000) and Undeclared (2001–2002). Segel has appeared in several notable films, including Knocked Up (2007), Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008), and The Muppets (2011). He received an Independent Spirit Award nomination for his portrayal of David Foster Wallace in The End of the Tour (2015). In 2023, he co-created and starred in the Apple TV+ series Shrinking, earning a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for his performance.
