Jason Miller was an American playwright and actor who won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1973 for his play That Championship Season. He received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Father Damien Karras in the horror film The Exorcist (1973), a role he reprised in The Exorcist III (1990). Miller also served as the artistic director of the Scranton Public Theatre in Pennsylvania, where his celebrated play was set.
