Jason Cope is a South African actor who portrayed Christopher Johnson in District 9 (2009). He also voiced various background characters in the film. Cope's career began at a young age when he trained as a magician and later performed in a circus. He transitioned to acting and stand-up comedy, performing across South Africa. His work includes acting in Dredd (2012) and writing for the television comedy The Pure Monate Show. Cope is the grandson of noted South African writer Jack Cope.
