Janet Leigh is an American actress who made her film debut in The Romance of Rosy Ridge (1947). She gained significant recognition for her role as Marion Crane in Alfred Hitchcock's psychological thriller Psycho (1960), which earned her a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress and an Academy Award nomination. Throughout her career, Leigh appeared in films such as Act of Violence (1948), Little Women (1949), and Bye Bye Birdie (1963). In addition to her acting career, she authored four books and made her Broadway debut in 1975. Leigh starred alongside her daughter, Jamie Lee Curtis, in the horror films The Fog (1980) and Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998).
