James Wan is an Australian filmmaker who co-created the Saw franchise, which began with his directorial debut in 2004. He has significantly impacted the horror genre as the creator of The Conjuring Universe, the highest-grossing horror franchise, earning over $2 billion. Wan directed the first Insidious film in 2010 and its sequel in 2013, alongside the first two Conjuring films released in 2013 and 2016.
