James McDougall is a Canadian actor and filmmaker who played the role of Hammond in the thriller Becky (2020). Raised in Cobourg, Ontario, he developed a passion for acting and filmmaking early on, performing in local plays and school theater. He studied drama at Canterbury Arts High School and theater at York University before returning to Ottawa to perform in stage productions. McDougall gained recognition for his lead role in Vincenzo Natali's segment of the anthology horror film ABCs of Death 2 (2014) and portrayed Santa Claus in HBO Max's 8-Bit Christmas (2021). He co-wrote and starred in the survival thriller Whiteout (2023), which was sold at the Cannes Film Market.
