James McArdle is a Scottish actor who won the Ian Charleson Award for his performance in Platonov. He trained at RADA and graduated in 2010, the same year he appeared in Macbeth at The Globe and starred in Spur of the Moment at the Royal Court Theatre. McArdle has appeared in films such as Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015), '71 (2014), and Salting the Battlefield (2014). He also features in Ammonite (2020).
