James Hayden was an American actor who played Patrick "Patsy" Goldberg in the 1984 film Once Upon a Time in America. He trained as a medic and served in the Vietnam War before returning to New York to pursue acting, studying at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Hayden also starred in the Broadway play American Buffalo in 1983, where he portrayed a heroin addict alongside Al Pacino. Tragically, he passed away shortly after receiving a standing ovation for his performance. His legacy was honored by Mickey Rourke, who dedicated his performance in The Pope of Greenwich Village to Hayden's memory.
