James Earl Jones is an American actor known for his distinctive deep voice. He gained prominence with his performances in films such as The Hunt for Red October (1990), Patriot Games (1992), and Clear and Present Danger (1994). Jones also lent his voice to characters in Star Wars (1977) and The Lion King (2019). Throughout his career, he earned three Tony Awards, two Emmy Awards, and a Grammy Award, and was inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame in 1985. He received the National Medal of Arts in 1992 and the Honorary Academy Award in 2011.
