James Cossins was an English actor who portrayed Mr. Walt in the Fawlty Towers episode "The Hotel Inspectors." He trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, where he earned a silver medal in 1952. Cossins had a diverse career in film and television, appearing in over forty films, including The Anniversary and The Lost Continent, both released in 1968, as well as Gandhi in 1982 and The Man with the Golden Gun in 1974. His television credits include roles in shows like The Likely Lads, Minder, and Emmerdale Farm, where he played Bruce Westrop. Cossins also portrayed Major Bagstock in Dombey and Son in 1983. He passed away in 1997 due to heart disease.
