James Caan is an American actor who played Sonny Corleone in The Godfather (1972). He gained recognition for his performances in various films, including Brian's Song (1971), Misery (1990), and Elf (2003). Caan's career began with early roles in El Dorado (1966) and Countdown (1967), but he rose to fame with his portrayal in The Godfather, earning an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He reprised his role in The Godfather Part II (1974) and continued to act in notable projects such as Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2009) and That's My Boy (2012).
