Jameela Jamil is a British actress who portrayed Tahani Al-Jamil in the NBC series The Good Place. She began her career in television by hosting a pop culture series for Channel 4 from 2009 to 2012 and later became the first regular solo female presenter of the BBC Radio 1 chart show. Jamil moved to the United States in 2016, where she also hosted The Misery Index and served as a judge on Legendary. In addition to her role in The Good Place, she voiced a character in the animated film DC League of Super-Pets (2022) and has worked on the projects Elio (2025) and A Merry Little Ex-Mas (2025). Jamil has also lent her voice to Asencia in Star Trek: Prodigy.
