Jake LaMotta is a former American boxer who turned professional in the early 1940s, achieving an impressive undefeated streak and becoming the first fighter to defeat Sugar Ray Robinson. LaMotta captured the World's Middleweight Title from Marcel Cerdan and successfully defended it twice. In addition to his boxing career, he appeared in the film L'arnaqueur (1961) alongside Paul Newman and acted in Firepower (1979). LaMotta also ran a popular nightclub in Miami Beach during the 1950s. His life and career have been depicted in the film Raging Bull (1980).
