Jack Thompson is an Australian actor who starred in the classic film Wake in Fright (1971). He studied at the University of Queensland before pursuing a career in acting. Thompson gained prominence through his roles in notable Australian films such as Sunday Too Far Away (1975), The Man from Snowy River (1982), and Breaker Morant (1980), for which he received both Cannes and AFI acting awards. He was honored with a Living Legend Award at the 2005 Inside Film Awards. Thompson also appeared in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil (1997) and Excess Baggage (1997).
