Issa López

Issa López is a Mexican director, writer, and producer whose work includes the film Tigers Are Not Afraid (2017), which she both wrote and directed. Over her career, twelve Spanish language features have been produced from her scripts, with four directed by her. López received the National Novel Award from Mexico's Institute of Fine Arts and Literature in 2007. Her film Tigers Are Not Afraid won fifty-one awards at various film festivals, including Best Picture and Best Director at the Diosas de Plata. She also directed and co-wrote all episodes of the fourth season of HBO's True Detective, titled True Detective: Night Country.
