Imelda Staunton is an English actress and singer who won a BAFTA Award for her leading role in Vera Drake (2004). She began her career in repertory theatre after training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 1976. Staunton has appeared in notable films such as Sense and Sensibility (1995), Shakespeare in Love (1998), and the Harry Potter series, where she portrayed Dolores Umbridge in The Order of the Phoenix (2007). Her voice work includes roles in Chicken Run (2000), Arthur Christmas (2011), and Paddington (2014). In addition to her film work, Staunton has received four Laurence Olivier Awards for her performances in musicals. She portrayed Queen Elizabeth II in the final seasons of The Crown.
