Howard Hesseman was an American actor who portrayed the character Dr. Johnny Fever on the television series WKRP in Cincinnati. He had a prominent career in both television and film, starting in the 1970s and extending into the 2010s. His notable roles include Charlie Moore in Head of the Class, Sam Royer in One Day at a Time, and Captain Pete Lassard in Police Academy 2: Their First Assignment. Hesseman also appeared in the film Rubin & Ed (1992). He passed away in 2022.
