Holly Hunter is an American actress who won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in The Piano (1993). She began her career in theater, performing in various productions after graduating from Carnegie Mellon University. Hunter gained recognition for her performances in films such as Raising Arizona (1987) and Broadcast News (1987), the latter earning her an Oscar nomination. She has also received two Primetime Emmy Awards for her work in television films, including Roe vs. Wade (1989). In addition to her Oscar wins and nominations, Hunter has been honored with a BAFTA Award and a Golden Globe. She lent her voice to the character Elastigirl in Incredibles 2 (2018).
