Hisaya Morishige was a Japanese actor and comedian who starred in the film Princess Mononoke (1997). He began his career in theater and later became an announcer for NHK, working in Manchukuo. Morishige gained fame for his comedic roles in film series such as the 'Company President' (Shacho) and 'Station Front' (Ekimae), produced by Toho, and appeared in nearly 250 films, encompassing both contemporary and jidaigeki genres. He also played Tevye in the Japanese adaptation of Fiddler on the Roof and was the first guest on the talk show Tetsuko's Room in 1975. In 1991, he was awarded the Order of Culture by the Emperor of Japan.
