Helen Hunt is an American actress and director who won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role as Carol Connelly in As Good as It Gets (1997). She gained prominence in the 1990s with her portrayal of Jamie Buchman in the sitcom Mad About You, earning multiple awards including four Primetime Emmys. Hunt's filmography includes notable titles such as Twister (1996), Cast Away (2000), and The Sessions (2012), the latter earning her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. In addition to acting, she made her directorial debut with Then She Found Me (2007) and directed the film Ride (2014). Hunt has received four Golden Globe Awards throughout her career.
