Harold Pinter was a British playwright and screenwriter who won the Nobel Prize in Literature. His career, spanning over five decades, includes notable works such as The Birthday Party (1957), The Homecoming (1964), and Betrayal (1978), all of which he adapted for film. Pinter's screenwriting credits also encompass The Servant (1963), The Go-Between (1971), and The French Lieutenant's Woman (1981). In addition to writing, he directed nearly 50 productions and acted in various stage and screen adaptations of his plays. His last performance was in the title role of Krapp's Last Tape in 2006.
