Halle Bailey is an American singer-songwriter and actress who played Ariel in Disney's musical fantasy film The Little Mermaid (2023). She gained recognition as one half of the musical duo Chloe x Halle alongside her sister Chloe Bailey, with whom she has released two albums, The Kids Are Alright (2018) and Ungodly Hour (2020), earning five Grammy Award nominations. Bailey also appeared in a supporting role in the sitcom Grown-ish (2018–2022). In addition to her film work, she will portray the young Nettie in the musical drama adaptation of The Color Purple. Bailey's diverse talents span both music and acting.
