Goutam Ghose is the only Indian recipient of the "Vittorio Di Sica" Award, which he received in 1997. He is a prominent film director, actor, music director, and cinematographer primarily associated with Bengali cinema. His notable works include Moner Manush (2010), Ekla Akash (2012), Guptodhoner Sondhane (2018), and Shantilal O Projapoti Rohoshyo (2019). Ghose's filmmaking has been influenced by renowned directors such as Satyajit Ray and Ritwik Ghatak. In 2017, he became a member of the Oscar Academy.
